As you may be aware, we had a call for art in response to Eve Jones’s poems that closed on 4.19.14 so that we could open a call for poems and short-short stories in response to the artwork. We’re delighted with the pieces that were submitted and would like to thank:
Andi Kozak – sassyandi.com
Mark Swain – markswainarts.blogspot.com
Now that phase II (the call for literary submissions) is underway, we would like to invite anyone still interested to submit their artwork in response to Eve Jones’s poems. These submissions will still be displayed at the event on May 12, but they will not be included in the writers’ responses.
Send work via e-mail to sarahkuntzjones at gmail dot com by 11:59 PM on 5.10.14.
There are eight days left until the call for art deadline. Some submissions have come in–won’t you join them? At any rate it’s a spring afternoon, quittin’ time… What better way to embrace it than reading some gorgeous poems?
Literature for the Halibut Streaming
Thanks to all those who listened and supported Prose/Poem (and me) last night on Literature for the Halibut. (And a massive thank you to Nicky Rainey and Eli!) If you missed it, you can still check the 4/7 show through 4/21 via KDHX’s streaming archive. The show included details on the Prose/Poem reading event series, the call for art, a reading of Eve Jones’s “Sleeping Giant” and “August Letter to My Solider in These Difficult Times,” as well as, a reading of two of my own flash fiction pieces. Action-packed fun, right?
Sarah Kuntz Jones of Prose/Poem will be on Literature for the Halibut tonight, April 7, from 9-9:30 PM. Tune in to 88.1 KDHX or KDHX’s live stream online to hear about Prose/Poem’s upcoming events and our call for art in support of Eve Jones’s reading on May 12.
